While sitting in my dentist’s office early last week waiting for my scheduled appointment, I was leafing through an art magazine when I came across an advertisement for the “Art Across America” exhibit at the National Museum of Korea, which is located just outside Ichon station and next to Yongsan Family Park in Seoul. Michelle had also seen an advertisement for this exhibit somewhere around town and we both mentioned the idea of paying a visit. Thus, it wasn’t before long Michelle and ventured to the National Museum of Korea and had a great time perusing “Art Across America.” Cost is 12,000won and the exhibit goes from February 5th to May 19th, 2013.

In all regards, I found the exhibit to be a bit larger than expected with marvelous paintings and craft art primarily spanning from the American Revolution to World War II, including many artists of whom are widely recognized, such as Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Max Weber, Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keefe, and Marry Cassatt. Except for modern paintings, it was permissible to snap photos. Thus, with camera phone in hand, I was able to take a few and include them here, but they do not encompass the abundant variety of paintings available for viewing within this wonderful exhibit. I hope these merely foster the desire to visit and see all the terrific paintings for yourself…
